Ahh Alex.... I hear ya....life and love is so tough at your age. The worst thing in my books when I was a kid was to experience humiliation and teasing by the other kids.
What I wish I knew then was that the opinions of those kids who were cruel or mean to me didn't really matter. It was their stuff, their insecurities. They are jealous and cruel it's true. And there's nothing worse than that feeling of your ears burning when you have been found out to have a crush on someone or get embarrassed in another way. Unfortunately, this feeling often gets carried into our adult lives and we are so terrified to let people know we like them, that we often feel worse.
The reality is that as we get older we come to realize that being comfortable with showing those people we really dig how we feel is a pretty cool thing.
I understand a bit better why giving cards to everyone is 'safer', but how do you feel about being forced to give a card to someone you don't like very much?
Thanks for your comment. TEEWS!! (for the uninitiated, that's SWEET backwards :))
If I give a card to someone I dislike, then I am even less likely to be noticed, resulting in less attention and no "snooping" by other curious students.
